========
Dear friends,
It is with sadness that I am writing to inform you that my time serving Minister Gary Goodyear and our government is drawing to a close.
It has been an absolute honour and a privilege to be a part of this ethical and accountable government and to serve Canadians over the past five years.
I want to thank my boss, my mentor and my friend, the Hon. Gary Goodyear, for his leadership, for placing his trust in me, and for giving me the opportunity to accomplish so much with him. From implementing the Knowledge Infrastructure Program (KIP) to setting up the new FedDev agency, it has been it has been a wonderful time and one that I wouldn't
change a single bit.
I also want to thank the people with whom I have had the pleasure of working in the Ministers office. You are all dedicated, hard working and you made my job a lot easier that it could have been. I have always said that Minister Goodyear’s team is the best on Parliament Hill.
In addition, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the employees at Industry Canada and FedDev Ontario for their professionalism, hard work and support which helped make our many successes possible.
Finally, I would like to salute my wonderful colleagues elsewhere government and on the Hill, many of whom have become lifelong friends. Your advice and guidance has been crucial to my success here in Ottawa.
The last few years have truly been the best in my life so far. As Emma and I embark on the next stage of our journey together, I want to wish you all the best for the future, and I look forward to the time when we cross paths again.
My new co-ordinates are attached
Sincerely
Phil Welford
