Rebecca Thompson is leaving Parliament Hill

Thompson is currently the director of communications to Public Works Minister Rona Ambrose. She is leaving politics for the private sector. The London, Ontario-native has worked in politics for about a decade, starting at Queen's Park in the Harris government and at Toronto City Hall.

She came to Ottawa in 2004 to work as Doug Finley's executive assistant at Conservative Party HQ. After the Harper government was elected in 2006 she worked in PMO in government communications. This was followed by a stint in John Baird's office.
