PMO seeking regional experts

With the promotion within the PMO of Brock Stephenson to Deputy Director of Issues Management two positions have opened up on the regional affairs team. Stephenson was doing double duty covering BC and the Prairies and now they are looking to fill the gap.

Job Opportunities (2), Regional Affairs, Office of the Prime Minister

We are looking for two candidates to fill positions in the Regional Affairs Department in the Prime Minister's Office.

The first position is Regional Affairs Advisor (British Columbia and the Territories).

The second position is Regional Affairs Advisor (Prairies).

Reporting to the Deputy Chief of Staff and working closely with caucus members (including cabinet ministers) and their staff, Regional Affairs Advisors are responsible for providing advice to the Prime Minister and other PMO departments from a regional perspective. Examples of the advice provided include:

Preparing daily regional media updates and issues report
Liaising with the offices of regional Ministers, MPs and Senators and with the regional Ministers' Regional Offices, including attending regional caucuses when required;
Working closely with Ministers' Regional Offices;
Reviewing Ministers' travel requests;
Monitoring the development of regional issues;
Providing issues advice from a regional perspective; and
Preparing issues briefing notes as required.

Knowledge of the issues in the applicable regions is a prerequisite for the position. Experience in a member's or Minister's office in policy or issues management is ideal.

Bilingualism is preferred. Salary is negotiable.
