Igneski and Akers leave PMO

Jasmine Igneski, the director of Priorities and Planning in the PMO, is leaving her position. She is returning to her home town of Hamilton. Igneski has been a top Conservative staffer since her role running the voter telephone contact program in the 2006 federal election campaign. Since then she worked for Rona Ambrose and John Baird as a senior policy advisor in Environment and then in the policy department in PMO before becoming director of Priorities and Planning. She first cut her teeth at Queen's Park working in the Environment ministry of the Harris government, after being involved in campus politics at UWO. Apparently she is leaving politics behind, for now... but how many times have we heard that for long-time political staffers?

Also leaving the PMO is Brayden Akers, driver to the PM's chief of staff, apparently to become some sort of a communications flack at Transport Canada. Akers had a long history in campus politics in Ontario before coming to Ottawa. He is being replaced by Sam VanderVeer who went to school at BC's Trinity Western University.
