Iggy claims Genco brought Pope and Stones together

CanadaNewsDesk.com EXCLUSIVE!

Have a look at the YouTube video below. That's Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff claiming that his candidate in the Vaughan by-election brought Pope John Paul II and the Rolling Stones together in Toronto.

On November 4th at Genco's kick-off rally, Ignatieff said "Anybody who can get the Pope and the Rolling Stones together is going to have a great career as a politician."

If anyone out there can't remember this pretty remarkable event - there's a reason - it never happened. For the record His Holiness the Pope was in Toronto for World Youth Day in July 2002 and the Rolling Stones performed at the SARS benefit concert a year later in July 2003.

Of course, Ignatieff wouldn't know that - because he was living in Boston at the time.
